I recently took a course at the popular online programming school, Daytra, and here's my review and a summary of what it has to offer!
I don't know what to study Shopify with.
I don't know how to learn Shopify.
I'd be happy to be of help to anyone who needs it!Try Daytona's free trial
What is Deitra?
First of all, what kind of online school is DAYTRA and which organization operates it?
|Operating company||DAYTRA Corporation|
|Courses offered|| Web Production Course
, Web Application Course
, Web Design Course
, Shopify Course
, Video Editing Course
, Python Course
, Web Marketing Course,
As mentioned above, "Daytra Inc." offers a variety of online courses in addition to the Shopify course.
What makes it different from other Shopify online schools is that
Daytra → Originally in the online course business, then entered the "Shopify" field.
Other company → First started online course business with "Shopify".
I think this is the part that Daytra is a The "Shopify Course" is of very high quality because it incorporates the know-how cultivated in other online courses to the fullest. I was under the impression it was content!
At this time, Daytona is
- Shopify Course
→ Learn to build a Shopify store
- Shopify Advanced Course
→ covers store customization with theme code editing

Attraction of Daytona
Now that you have a full picture of the organization that runs Daytra and the courses it offers, we will mention the appeal of Daytra that we felt before taking the course, and what we found attractive about it after actually taking the course.
Highly rated by word of mouth
First of all, before I took the course, I paid attention to the high level of word-of-mouth, and as you can see from a search on Twitter using hashtags such as "#Daytra," the word-of-mouth is really good. (And many people study it with great lamentation because it's so difficult lol)
So I felt that it would not be easy, but it would be rich in content and I would learn a great deal.
And, as I expected, the course was very rich in content, and even as a Shopify developer, I found many parts of the course to be helpful.
Above all, the hands-on format
The next thing that surprised me was that the lectures were more hands-on than anything else.
I was surprised by the fact that many of the lectures were in the form of actual practice. But how do you actually apply that knowledge in practice? I think that most of the materials are just that.
However, DAYTRA was different.
I could understand the entire process of getting a deal, not only learning Shopify itself, of course, but also what to do when you get a Shopify deal. It was a complete course that covered not only Shopify itself, but also what to do when you get a Shopify deal.
Therefore, the Many people become freelancers after completing Daytra's Shopify course. It is no wonder that the
Secondly, the fact that "Daytra" is certified by Shopify is also a big attraction. (The following is a tweet from Mr. Shohee, a representative of DAYTRA)
We are also happy to announce that Daytra Inc. has been certified as a Shopify Experts 🙇♂️㊗️Daytra is the first school in Japan to be certified as such- Showhey @Daytra Management (@showheyohtaki) August 30, 2021
🎉↓↓Daytra Inc. We hope to
produce many people who say "Learning Shopify changed my life" ❗️ pic.twitter.com/iF2kHy0pwK
It is not unusual for a development company to be certified as a Shopify Expert, but I think it is a very rare case for an online school operator to be certified as an Expert.
It is especially important that the quality of Shopify online courses in Japan is assured by Shopify Japan, as there are only a limited number of such courses in Japan.
Therefore, the title of "Shopify Certified School" is very attractive to us students!
Video Commentary + Supplemental Text
Furthermore, after actually attending the course, I personally had a good impression of the following In addition to video explanations, each section should have a "text supplement". The following is a summary of the results of the survey.
In a typical online course (such as Udemy), the course is completed only by video.
This makes it difficult to understand what is important and tends to be quite painful for those who are better at reading texts. (I personally am the type of person who can get into my head better with written material, so I found it easier to study when the material was written down.)
One of the biggest advantages is the mentoring program. What a great idea! Each course has several mentors and 24 hours a day questions available via slack The following is a list of the most common reasons for this. (You will get answers between 12:00-10:00 p.m.)
Personally, the No. 1 reason I tend to fall behind in online courses is Stumbling and falling behind in areas you don't understand. I believe this is the case.
But at Deitra, you can always ask the mentors what you don't understand and they'll work with you to solve it!
There are not many online courses that offer this level of support, so it may not be an exaggeration to say that the mentoring system is the most attractive feature of this course.
Many updates of course materials
Finally, it is also important to note that there are many updates to the teaching materials.
This is because Shopify itself updates its service very quickly. I'm not sure what to say. (I really respect Shopify's engineers so much for their development speed that it's scary...)
So, it can happen that what was normally the latest knowledge 3 months ago has now been replaced by other latest technologies. This means that an online course that is slow to update its materials will quickly become obsolete.
It is a waste of time and money to invest in learning Shopify only to find that your knowledge has become obsolete! I'm sure that's true.
After taking the course, I really appreciated the fact that Daytra regularly updates its teaching materials so that students can always learn the latest technology. (The material is permanently accessible, which is also useful for learning the latest knowledge of Shopify.)
Daytra offers two different Shopify courses
Now that we have told you about the appeal of Daytra, we would like to quickly go into the content of the Shopify course that Daytra offers.
At this time, Daytra offers
- Basic → Shopify Course
- Application → Shopify Advanced Course
The two types of courses offered are
Let's take a look at what each course is concerned with and the knowledge that can be covered in each.
Shopify Course Content [Basics
- Preparation before sales talk and construction
- Store Building
- Sales and Marketing
- Tips for gaining recognition and operation
The Shopify course, starting with the basics, covered the knowledge needed to take on store construction.
Although we tend to focus only on "store building" in nature, the

The fact that he covers all the practical aspects of the business is indeed a true testament to Mr. Deitra! That is the only word I can use to describe it.
If you simply want to focus on building a store and creating e-commerce sites for your clients, this course was sufficient. And if you are new to Shopify, this is a great place to start!Take a look at the "Shopify Course
Contents of Shopify Advanced Course [Applied].
- Basic knowledge and environment building
- Understand file structure
- Liquid / JSON syntax
- Collection of common customizations
If you want to implement customizations to your Shopify store, or if you are asked to edit Shopify code for a client, you will need to go through the advanced course.
When I first started working with the Shopify code, I was like...
Liquid, Shopify's own language
I have no idea where to touch.
I had a very hard time because of this. However, the advanced course was very helpful because it was explained in a gentle and detailed manner even for those who are new to Shopify code!Take a look at the "Shopify Advanced Course
Are you more suited for the "Shopify Course" or the "Shopify Advanced Course"?
This is getting long, so I'll try to summarize what criteria you should use to choose the course you actually want to take!
People who are learning Shopify for the first time
People who want to get an overview of Shopify
Clients who have been asked to build a Shopify store
People who want to become directors, e-commerce site operators, etc.
People who want to edit code in Shopify
People who can build a store and want to expand their work further.

Roadmap after learning Daytra
So what awaits you after you actually advance your Shopify learning at Daytra?
Here is a possible roadmap after learning Daytra
- Change jobs at a Shopify-related company
- Shopify store creation on the side
- Personal e-commerce site management
Particularly attractive are career changes and freelancing. Shopify is in high demand, and people who can do Shopify are highly valued.
Therefore, it may be easy to change jobs to a company that is looking for Shopify personnel, or to obtain work as a side job or freelancer.
Especially since Daytra covers sales, development, and post-delivery, I got the impression that the course is directly related to practical work, making it easy to seize opportunities!
