What do you think were the best-selling product categories in stores using the Shopify platform?

Personally, I thought that the top products would be masks and other anti-Corona products, products that can be enjoyed during stay-home, interior design, and kitchen utensils. But lo and behold, it was a surprising product category that came in first place!

No. 9 Kitchen and living room furniture

Next on the list are kitchen furniture and dining room (living room) furniture.

This category is also supported by the influence of Corona, but it can be said to be a very popular product category to begin with. Certain products, such as table sets and kitchen chairs, are also particularly popular.

Perhaps the most surprising of the rankings was the kayak accessory.

However, when we looked into it, we found that kayak-related products have become an annual product category, with search volume increasing significantly before summer and often trending. Kayaking may not be a familiar activity in Japan, but it seems to be a major activity overseas.

Specific products included sunshades for kayaks, seats, paddles, bags, and tail blowers (a kind of jet that is attached to the back of a kayak).

No. 6 Yoga mat

Yoga mats are popular among women who have been getting exercise in their stayhomes. This is another product category that has received a boost in the Corona Disaster.

Recently, yoga mats that are made of environmentally friendly materials, especially those that do not contain toxic substances such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), have been gaining attention. When creating a Shopify store to sell yoga mats, it might be a good idea to not only focus on the photos and site structure, but also highlight the materials they are made of.

No. 5 Blanket

Blankets ranked fifth on the list. As with the yoga mat, it is suggested that here, too, there is a focus on environmentally friendly blankets. When selling them, one needs to consider not only how warm and stylish they are, but also the material they are made of.

Peeling masks are popular on Google Trends, Oberlo, and Amazon, and were often seen on social networking sites for a while. I just didn't realize they were this popular.
