[Okinawa version] Summary of EC store case examples using Shopify

This is Guin, a Shopify Partner living in Okinawa, Japan.

I've seen a lot of case studies of e-commerce sites using Shopify in Japan, but I couldn't find a Shipify store specific to Okinawa, so I decided to put it together this time.

In fact, we found that a surprisingly large number of Okinawan companies have started using Shopify. Some of them were recently launched, and I think we will see more and more Shopify cases from Okinawa in the future.

Let us introduce you to some of the businesses in Okinawa that are using Shopify!

ORION BEER

The well-known Okinawa brand "Orion Beer" also uses Shopify. I personally feel that having a large company like Orion Beer on Shopify has lowered the barrier for other Okinawan companies to join Shopify.

Not only beer, but also WATTA, which comes in a variety of flavors such as Okinawa's unique Shikwasa and Bulwave, are very popular.

URUMA DOME

A dome-shaped hotel located in Uruma City, Okinawa. It is located about 60 minutes by car from Naha and seems to have the ocean in front of it. There is a beautiful beach nearby, ocean view, and a natural planetarium.

It is rare to find a site that accepts reservations through Shopify, so I had to take a look!

KAISOU

Kaiso is a select store that focuses on Okinawan culture, creatures, and nature. It was a nice Shopify store dealing in accessories and Okinawan goods. Personally, I was interested in the masking tapes with Okinawan designs.

I'm curious to see if they also use Shopify POS.

YOYO

A Japanese confectionery born in Kitanakagusuku Village, Okinawa. In addition to functioning as an online store, it is also available for pre-order and store pickup.

They also have an actual store, which I visited and found to have a very nice interior. I felt that this is a wonderful business that is very particular about both the store and the wagashi.

HABUBOX

HABUBOX specializes in Okinawan T-shirts. It has four physical stores in Mihama, Naha Airport, and Urasoe, and also sells T-shirts in partnership with Okinawan companies such as Orion Beer and Makeman.

The Poroyushi, featuring Okinawan designs, were absolutely wonderful. The Calabisa socks also seem to have obtained the GOOD DESIGN award.

TESIO

It is a charcuterie specialty store in Okinawa City that specializes in all handmade charcuterie. I had never heard of charcuterie, so I looked it up and found that it looked like a butcher shop.

The restaurant has also won a gold medal at the German international contest IFFA, and seems to be highly regarded worldwide. I want some good meat!

What I am hiding (not hiding) is that this site that I run myself also uses Shopify. I started it in the hope that more businesses from Okinawa will be able to sell their products online.

How was it?

My impression is that, since they have started their own e-commerce business, all of them are very particular about their products, and their values are reflected in their Shopify sites.

I also enjoyed looking at the design of each site and the products they sell, and I could feel the Okinawan spirit!
